It’s Official! My Agent Just Accepted a Two-Book Deal From Tor/Forge Publishing!

Man, this writing thing is a long and winding road. And this is the moment you dream of but doubt will ever actually happen…the book deal.

I was lucky enough to gain representation from the amazing Michelle Wolfson of Wolfson Literary and now we officially have a book deal! We just signed a deal with Tor Publishing for the first two books of my trilogy, The Contract Killers. (Which, despite the title, is actually a funny romance with a twist.)

So this wanna-be published author just became a gonna-be published author and dreams really do come true if you stick with it long enough and never give up.

Damn it, Mom. You missed it by four months. And you believed this moment would happen more than anyone. I ❤ you always.

How awesome is this? Am thrilled for you! (And fear not….she knows……am sure she’s been up there for four months singing your praises and probably had a hand in this just for you!) Congrats!

Thanks so much 🙂 Guess she knows she’s already locked down the dedication, huh? 😉

Hah! Am sure she does…she’ll probably guide your fingers on the keyboard as you write it! 🙂

What a beautiful confirmation for Erin!

Congrats! That’s so amazing and I’m just thrilled you made it! Years ago, I dabbled in writing children’s books and joked around that I would one day wallpaper my office with my rejection letters. But enough about me…I very much look forward to reading your books!

And don’t think for a second that your mom doesn’t know. She may not be here to celebrate with you, but she’s been by your side the whole time. When nothing seems to make sense, we have to hold onto what we can. And you’re very fortunate to have years of wonderful memories with her. I’m sure she’s beaming down on you, incredibly proud of your perseverance and hard work.

Thank you so much 🙂 I have to believe that is true but the day would be so different if she were here. But! She would probably be pissed if I let this moment pass me by so I don’t intend to 😉

Congratulations!! That is the story I needed to read today.

Thank you! 🙂 And I’m glad! I know it’s a long road but perseverance really is key. Good luck!

I’m so happy for you Erin! (slightly jealous, but mostly happy) Keep me in the loop of how your book comes around!

    • April 24, 2015 at 8:12 am

Thanks, Jonas 🙂 I actually have a post about that – saying “I’m so happy for you!” when someone says they are being published but secretly hating them for it 😉 See? I understand!

Or as the southerners say, “bless your heart” Dude! You should totally get on my video interview train!

      • April 24, 2015 at 8:16 am

I keep seeing notices for them…how do you do video interviews?

      • April 24, 2015 at 8:22 am

First: you need a camera. Second: a microphone if not built into your camera device. I go through Google’s Live Hangout and we’d just sit and chat basically. Email me and see if it might be of interest

Congratulations Erin! I am an avid supporter of Indy and new authors. Looking forward to read your books.
I truly believe that your mom had her hand in making this happen.

Oh my dear sweet! What to say that I haven’t said already? Lots and lots of congratulations! Lots of you rock the shiz out of the butt glue thing! Woo Hoo! Can I borrow some? ; ) Ha Ha!

Of course I finally have a moment to sit and type you and the gang just rolled up : /

Spoken like the big man…I’ll be back!

    I love you.

Maybe I’ll see you this week?

You go girl! Congratulations. Maybe wine should be on the cover! Or bottled water if you have figured that out.

  12. May 3, 2015 at 7:23 pm

P.S. Can I have your agents number. Cause my make believe agent is not doing a very good job. How long does one book have to be? I’m sure I could do at least 20 pages a year.

    • May 3, 2015 at 7:27 pm

Lol!! Wine on the cover sounds fitting. You may need more than 20 pages, though 😉

Gives you time to practice autographing.

      • June 12, 2015 at 5:11 pm

Lol. I like where your head’s at 😉
